Description
Land and Livestock Management for Life (aka 3LM) is the Savory Institute Networks Hub for the UK. Based on the work of Ecologist Allan Savory (see: https://www.ted.com/talks/allan_savory_how_to_green_the_world_s_deserts_and_reverse_climate_change?language=en) we bring the potential to change food production to significantly enhance the environment (sequestering lots of CO2 naturally), regenerate soils, food quality, whilst bringing a new sovereignty to farmers and producers and being the cornerstone of a Regenerative Economy.
3LM was developed from my lessons in local food production, the 12 years of study into holistic health and the insights developed from discussions with the many local people interested in the quality of food (organic) we were producing at the time., having applied to the Savory Institute in 2014. Vitality Farm is our 95 acre mainly grassland farm near Wallingford.
GFO Charter Pledge
From 2016 we look to add the the diversity on our farm, presently traditional cattle, by partnering with people who want to produce local food, but like so many locally have no land to do so. Working on the principals of Joel Salatin of Polyface Farm in Virginia, we are seeking to 'multi layer' the activities on the farm, to further our soil regeneration and fertility whilst producing more local primary products, job and more social inclusion.
