Old Fire Station x Damascus Rose Kitchen is a partnership between two organisations. The Old Fire Station is a centre for creativity, encouraging people from all backgrounds to understand and shape the world in which we live through stories, creativity and the arts, and by connecting with others. Damascus Rose Kitchen is a social enterprise serving up delicious Middle Eastern food, while supporting refugee women in the city. Established in March 2020 in response to COVID-19, Oxford Mutual Aid is a grassroots community group whose key objective is the relief of poverty and need. Over 200 volunteers provide food and essentials to approximately 2,000 recipients by redistributing over 5 tonnes of food waste each week. The Sumatran Orangutan Society (SOS) is a conservation charity working to protect orangutans, their forests and their future. As well as backing frontline conservation programmes from forest restoration to orangutan rescue, we campaign for businesses in Oxford, the UK, Europe and around the world to switch to certified sustainable palm oil in order to break the link between this industry and deforestation.
We are launching the Sustainable Palm Oil City campaign in Oxford in 2019, aiming to change the way that the food service sector buys palm oil. By harnessing the reach and buying power of the hospitality sector, we can support the protection of orangutans and their rainforest homes.

Sustainable Didcot is a community action group for Didcot residents with a shared interest in the environment, living sustainably and raising awareness of climate change.
We are currently working on setting up a collaboration with SOFEA (https://www.sofea.uk.com/) and Didcot allotment society to make use of a vacant allotment allocated for community use. This would provide another community gardening space in Didcot as well as providing training for the young people of SOFEA who for various reasons are not currently in education, employment or training.

Wantage Community Larder is a partnership between Sustainable Wantage and SOFEA. There is a £10 joining fee and a weekly subscription (£3.50 for an individual, £7 for a family) and each week there is a variety of surplus food available to larder members (individual membership gives you up to 10 items and 4 fruit / veg, family membership is double this).
