Join the new WISH project for a zero waste future

19 Jan 2022

Cherwell Collective, CIC have announced the launch of the new project Waste Innovation Station Headquarters (WISH) in Oxfordshire. WISH is a vision of a brighter future, a “circular economy” focused on zero waste,  where nothing is purchased new until absolutely all options for keeping items in circulation have been exhausted. The lead organisation Cherwell Collective are now recruiting four ambitious individuals to help the partnership build an exciting future through the project.

WISH is a partnership, reaching more than 50,000 people in Oxfordshire, designed to guide our community to a lowered carbon footprint through outreach and demonstration around reducing waste. The project will provide demonstrations as well as take home DIY kits to help people reduce waste at home, guidance on where and how to repair items, and ways to reduce consumption of and demand for new production lines to take real climate action – now.

WISH is interactive, with each and every exhibit made from waste, teaching us how to reduce waste and informing about the carbon footprint of waste. It will thus enable participants to make small changes in what and how we waste.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Margaret Mead
