Grant funding opportunity for community services working to prevent COVID-19 outbreaks across Oxfordshire

8 Jul 2021

Applications are open until 30th September 2021 for community-based organisations who are supporting residents and their wider community to reduce and contain outbreaks of COVID-19.

The fund is administered by Good Food Oxford on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council, West Oxfordshire District Council and Cherwell District Council. The focus on community food services is in recognition of the fantastic job that around 100 local groups and around 15,000 volunteers have done throughout the pandemic to support our communities to stay safe and maintain a healthy diet. There is now a need to continue and extend the essential work of these services to build the capacity and infrastructure in our communities to help prevent new outbreaks.

A wide range of projects will be considered that can demonstrate that their service is supporting communities to prevent outbreaks – for example: supporting residents to self-isolate through deliveries of food and essentials; joining up grassroots organisations to improve access to services and support, reaching out to more people in the county; activities that support a sense of community and well-being in a safe and managed way.

The funds can be for project or core costs, but must demonstrate how you will prevent or minimise the spread of COVID-19. We have aimed to make this fund as accessible to as many organisations as possible. The application form is short and simple – if you are unsure about applying we would encourage you to get in touch with us at admin@goodfoodoxford.org and we will call you to discuss your ideas – we really want this to be accessible to as many groups as possible.

Grants of up to £5,000 will be available in 2 rounds of applications.

Application deadline for Round 1: July 26th 2021. A decision will be made by our independent Grant Oversight panel in early August.

Application deadline for Round 2: September 30th 2021. A decision will be made by our independent Grant Oversight panel in early October.

Funds need to be spent by March 2022.
