We're in good company!

10 Feb 2014
sustfoodAt the weekend we were over in The Other Place (that's Cambridge, for the uninitiated...), which like Oxford is one of the newest recruits to the national Sustainable Food Cities network. The Cambridge folks, led by Cambridge Carbon Footprint and Transition Cambridge put on an excellent one-day conference 'Food for a Greener Future' featuring speakers from World Development Movement, WWF, the Tyndall Centre, Anglia Ruskin University and City University's Food Policy Centre. Oxford was represented by Cultivate speaking about our city's FoodPrinting approach to cutting the environmental impacts of our food system. There's much we can learn in Oxford through collaboration with other cities in the national network. It looks like Cambridge are doing a brilliant job putting on food festivals and events to showcase the best of local and sustainable producers to the public for example - something that maybe we could think about replicating here through our network. To hear more about what's going on in other cities, Hannah and Julian will be going to the Sustainable Food Cities Conference in Brighton on March 31. We'd love to be joined by more people from Oxford - let us know if you'll be coming!
