Get trained to become a Health & Wellbeing Champion

2 Aug 2015
Oxford City Council, Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, Public Health and Oxfordshire County Council have developed a role for Voluntary Health & Well-Being Champions. The aim of this scheme is to sign up people in our communities to become actively involved with health initiatives and to promote local and national health programmes. Volunteers will receive training that will enable them to signpost other residents to health & well-being sessions, advice services and community activities.  Training can either be accredited or non-accredited and will take place in a community setting. The 2 day part time non-accredited training consists of 2 sessions- Day 1  Community Champion Training – which will be delivered by Oxfordshire Skills and Learning Service Day 2  Health Training – which will be delivered by Public Health and Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group The first course will take place 9th and 10th September 2015. There is also the opportunity for people to work towards a Level 2 accreditation, this would be a 4 day course that would be based on the non-accredited course. All  training is free and future resources will be provided by Public Health and Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group. Whether you are already an active volunteer or this is the first time, this course will enable you to learn new skills and knowledge that will assist with your personal development.
