Scrummy guest blog from Tandem Festival - happening this weekend!

Tandem takes good food very seriously – with a whole host of foodie partners in Oxfordshire, a long-standing bond to Cultivate local market garden and friends in Abundance, Disco Soup, Good Food Oxford and the Oxford Food Bank: we want to make sure we offer you scrumptious, ethical & affordable food and drink to tickle your taste buds and quench your thirst! We’ve also got lots of food workshops & talks: check out our programme here!

What does a Tandem Feast look like?  tandemFestival_eFlyer1 Freshly – Cooked, for ALL* Ethically-sourced Affordable Supporting small and local businesses & most of all, Tasty! (very)

(*we’ve carefully chosen our food stalls so that gluten-free, dairy-free & vegan** options are all on the menu, without needing to make special requests!)

This year, we’ve gathered a great variety of festival food gurus from near and far to fuel your dancing feet – so why not have a taste of the FEAST you can have at Tandem by checking them out below…

Wa! organic, veggie & vegan meals packed with super-tasty superfoods & made fresh daily in Oxford! Great festival pick-me-ups inc. soups to boost energy and curries to fix any hangover. There’s a feel-good factor to boot: for every wa! meal sold, a child in poverty really gets fed a free healthy meal.

Fresh Rootz! use fresh, locally sourced ingredients in their world-inspired meals, crammed with more like 7-a-day of your fruit & veg! They love using British root veg and beyond and have won Best Street Food awards on multiple occasions: we’re excited to take their street food to the fields and tuck in at Tandem Festival.

We’ll be serving up: Ales from Hook Norton, wine from Brightwell Vineyard, cider from Red Dog Cider in Benson and apple juice from Waterperry topped off with a smile in the sunshine. We’ve also got a special batch of our very own Tandem Elderflower Cordial, made with love by Abundance Oxford and Tandem volunteers using flowers foraged on site. Horsebox Coffee Co. For some people, good coffee makes their festival day. For others, a good cup of Horlicks or hot chocolate makes the world feel right in the afternoon. Emily will be reviving us with ethically-sourced hot drinks from an upcycled converted horse box! She may well be roasting a special Tandem Coffee Blend too!

 Coming soon.. Duke’s Po’Boys…

** P.S. all the food at Tandem Festival is vegetarian! We haven’t shouted about it because we think that good veggie food shouldn’t need the word veggie in it: it’s just good food! The environmental impact of the food at a festival is one of the largest impacts of the whole festival (another biggie is transport ) and so we’ve carefully picked a plethora of delicious festival food that’s all veggie to reduce our overall impact environmentally and ethically, without any compromise on taste.
